WHERE IT STARTED
Capt. Dave & I (Gisele, aka Mrs. Capt. Dave) began taking
people out to see dolphins whales back in 1995.
Back then, the only way to get out and see dolphins
or whales any time outside of the traditional 'Whale Watching'
season (December through April) was to have a friend
with a boat take you, or to be out fishing, and then,
coincidently see the animals.
Capt. Dave & I both loved seeing the Dolphins,
sometimes even more than the migrating
Gray Whales and we figured if we did, then perhaps others would, too.

SO BEGAN OUR JOURNEY
We had a small boat, and Dave was very passionate
about teaching people about the animals we saw.
People were amazed when he would return to the dock
and report that he had seen huge herds of dolphins,
sometimes as large as 5,000 just three or four miles from shore.
Dave began taking his camera with him, and five years later,
produced the Award Winning Film,
"Wild Dolphins and Whales of Southern California".

THE EXPERIENCE
In the meantime, we were constantly enhancing
the experience of seeing the animals.
We had the first "Dolphin CAM" (an underwater camera);
an incredible stereophonic research hydrophone made for us by
SCRIPPS and the first Dolphin & Whale Micro Museum
on board with dolphin and whale artifacts from around the world.

THE CATAMARANS
Over the years, we have grown some,
and now have two wonderful sailing catamarans.
Catamarans are boats that have two hulls, instead of one,
and as a result, are extrememly stable.
They don't roll like a traditional boat, and they don't lean in the wind.
Both were meticulously chosen and then modified
to give our guests the chance to be extremely close to the animals.
Both have our 'Eye Spy' Dolphin Nets..places where peole can relax
just above the surface of the water and reach down to try and touch
the dolphins.

THE "EYE-TO-EYE" UNDERWATER VIEWING POD
aka "THE EYE-POD"

About ten years ago, Dave envisioned a place on board the boat,
where people could go and watch the dolphins play underwater...
a place where we would be able to become one of dolphin's pod.
The Manute'a, our newest Catamaran has the World's first
EYE-POD. It's received rave reviews!
A bonus has been our ability to see whales from the EYE-POD, too!

AND THE BROWNIES
From the very first day,we have served my
triple fudge homemade brownies, but that's another story!
